In 2007, Terry Robertson founded Robertson Funeral & Cremation Service, Charlotte’s first family owned private funeral & cremation practice - an alternative to the traditional funeral establishment. Since that time, the funeral industry landscape in Charlotte has changed dramatically with the purchase of family-owned firms by corporations and sadly, the demolition of historic funeral homes following these transitions. In addition, other funeral service professionals have started their own private practice and adopted this “New Way to do an Old Business.” In 2020, Mr. Robertson founded Kings Mountain Preserve (www.kingsmountainpreserve.com), Charlotte area’s first conservation green cemetery offering an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional burials. In 2023, Mr. Robertson founded Charlotte Aquamation (www.charlotteaquamation.com), Charlotte’s first aquamation service offering an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional cremations.

Today, Robertson Funeral & Cremation Service, Kings Mountain Preserve and Charlotte Aquamation serves over 400 families per year providing industry leading options to Charlotte and the surrounding communities. I am so grateful for the trust the Charlotte community has placed with our staff over the years. We will continue to provide viable options, our fair priced and transparent fair pricing policy as well as our unique boutique personalized service which has built our firm's reputation since our founding.
